Woltemade Makes History with Third Goal in Premier League
Newcastle, England – German striker Nick Woltemade made headlines again by scoring a crucial penalty in the 84th minute, leading Newcastle United to a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on October 5, 2025.
This goal marked Woltemade’s third goal in three home league games, making him the third player in Newcastle history to achieve this feat, following club legends Les Ferdinand and Alan Shearer.
Woltemade’s earlier performances included headers for the opener in both the home games against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Arsenal. The former Stuttgart player, who transferred to England for 75 million euros, previously scored the decisive goal against Wolves but couldn’t secure points against Arsenal after a late comeback.
Bruno Guimaraes started the scoring for the Magpies with a stunning long-range shot in the 58th minute. Woltemade had a couple of missed opportunities including a close-range effort that hit the crossbar and a volley blocked by Nikola Milenkovic.
However, his moment came after a foul on Guimaraes led to a penalty. Showing calmness and confidence, Woltemade converted the penalty with precision, joining the ranks of the club’s greats.
Fans celebrated passionately, and even his coach Julian Nagelsmann noted Woltemade’s remarkable adaptation to the Premier League. With four goals in seven games, he’s become a vital player for Newcastle.
For the German national team, his form is promising, especially ahead of their matches against Luxembourg and Northern Ireland, where Woltemade’s performance will be closely observed after their initial loss to Slovakia.
