T20 World Cup 2024 Semi-Finals: India to Play Against England, Afghanistan to Face South Africa
Following the thrilling encounters in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024, the semi-final lineup is now complete. Team India, led by the formidable Captain Rohit Sharma, is all set to face off against defending champions England in one of the semi-final clashes. Meanwhile, in the other semi-final, Afghanistan will battle it out against the undefeated South Africa.
The match between Afghanistan and South Africa is scheduled to kick off first on June 27, with an early start time of 6 am IST. On the same day, later in the evening at 8 pm IST, fans can catch the much-anticipated face-off between India and England.
Both semi-final matches will be played at different venues. Afghanistan and South Africa will compete at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy Stadium in Tarouba, San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago. On the other hand, India and England will clash at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
Cricket enthusiasts can catch the action live on Disney+ Hotstar and also tune in to the Star Sports Network for the live coverage of all the exciting moments from the semi-finals. It’s worth noting that for the semi-finals and the final, teams are required to bat a minimum of 10 overs per inning in case of rain interruptions.
If any of the semi-final matches are affected by rain and end up as a washout, the team that secured a higher position in their respective Super 8 groups – in the case of India and South Africa – will progress to the final round. The grand finale is scheduled to take place at the iconic Kensington Oval Stadium in Bridgetown, Barbados on June 29.
