World War Z’s Community Challenge Update Now Live with New Rewards

NEW YORK, April 8, 2025 – Saber Interactive has launched a major Community Challenge update for their popular co-op zombie shooter, World War Z. This update introduces new gameplay events, mutators, and rewards available immediately on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The Community Challenge event invites players from around the world to team up and complete tasks within a limited seven-day period. Participants who fulfill the minimum requirements will earn unique rewards upon successful completion of the challenge. The first challenge reward is a new skin for the MAG5 machine gun.

“We are excited to bring the Community Challenge update to our players,” said a Saber Interactive representative. “It allows the community to come together and achieve goals while earning unique rewards that are not repeatable.”

Alongside Community Challenges, the update also introduces seven new mutators and three reworked ones for the Challenge Horde mode, which adds a fresh twist to gameplay. Players can experiment with these features as they face intense zombie hordes.

The reworked Extinction mode has undergone significant changes and is now available exclusively after completing any map on Insane difficulty. Players can now select from two episodes, earning further rewards such as new weapon skins for the Taiga-12 heavy assault shotgun, Hailstorm MGL, and RPGL4 RPG launcher upon completion.

In addition, new custom portrait frames are now unlockable, enhancing player personalization options. Whether you are a seasoned player or new to the game, the Community Challenge update presents exciting opportunities to showcase skills against the undead.
