WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda Enters Hospice Care
WINTER PARK, Florida – WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda, known for his iconic roles as I.R.S. and Michael Wallstreet, is currently in hospice care. Barry Windham, Rotunda’s former tag team partner and brother-in-law, shared this emotional update during an interview.
In the conversation with wrestling journalist Bill Apter, Windham expressed his sadness, stating, ‘It’s kind of tough right now. You know, Mike is in hospice right now.’ He emphasized the deep bond he shares with the Rotunda family, saying, ‘I love that family.’ Windham requested fans to keep Mike in their prayers during this difficult time.
This news follows the recent passing of Bray Wyatt, Rotunda’s son and Windham’s nephew, adding to the family’s current emotional burden. Windham fondly remembered Bray, saying, ‘He was just a good boy. He was such a good person. Never got in trouble at all his whole life.’
Windham and Rotunda’s friendship dates back to 1982, when they first met in Toronto. They quickly developed a strong connection, with Windham describing it as ‘just like we were old friends when we first met.’ This camaraderie led to their success as a tag team in WWE as The U.S. Express.
Reflecting on their friendship, Windham noted the best advice Rotunda gave him: ‘Slow down.’ As the interview concluded, Windham reiterated his call for support, stating, ‘Well, it’s been a great ride, and I would like for you all to pray for Mike.’
The wrestling community continues to rally behind Mike Rotunda as they honor his legacy and offer support during this challenging time.
