Wynonna Judd And Ashley Judd Documentary

(Los Angeles, CA) – Wynonna and Ashley Judd are sharing their family’s story in a new docuseries titled “The Judd Family: Truth Be Told,” airing on May 10 and 11. The duo reflects on their complex relationship with their late mother, Naomi Judd, who died by suicide in 2022.

The sisters spoke candidly about their upbringing and the impact of fame on their lives. While Wynonna expressed mixed feelings about their close bond with their mother, she called it a “blessing and a burden.” Conversely, Ashley stated she felt proud of their family achievements.

Since their mother’s passing, the sisters have grown closer, as noted by Naomi’s widower, Larry Strickland. He remarked that their shared grief forced the family to unite. “We all had to come together around this trauma,” Strickland said.

Wynonna, born on May 30, 1964, to Naomi and her then-boyfriend Charles Jordan, reflected on their childhood. Ashley, born on April 19, 1968, experienced the challenges of growing up with a single mother who became a country music star. The family often moved, impacting the sisters’ closeness.

In a 2015 interview, Wynonna revealed their divergent paths growing up, explaining how their relationship suffered due to Wynonna’s early fame. “We don’t communicate nor do we spend time together,” she shared at the time.

Despite their struggles, the sisters’ bond has strengthened after the loss of their mother. Wynonna described their evolving relationship as one based on compassion, acknowledging the importance of vulnerability. Ashley echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing their shared experiences and the need for kindness.

The docuseries promises to include intimate interviews and previously unseen family footage, drawing back the curtain on their life in the spotlight. Viewers will witness how Naomi’s struggles with mental health affected the family dynamic.

Wynonna remarked that they are learning to appreciate their differences while recognizing their shared love for their mother. “Ashley and I are very different people, but we are learning that we have more in common than we don’t,” she said, highlighting the growth of their relationship.

The Judd sisters are set to reveal their authentic journey through the docuseries, which aims to shed light on their mother’s legacy while strengthening their connection with each other. The series is highly anticipated among fans and is expected to spark further discussions on family and mental health.
