LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The critically acclaimed psychological thriller series Yellowjackets returns for its highly anticipated Season 3 on Friday, February 14, 2025, after a 1.5-year hiatus. The show chronicles a group of talented high school girls’ soccer players who survive a harrowing plane crash in the remote wilderness and examines their descent into savagery and the complexities of their lives nearly 25 years later.

Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Yellowjackets offers a gripping narrative that intertwines past and present, revealing buried secrets that threaten to unravel the survivors. According to Paramount+, the new season finds the characters grappling with the aftermath of a brutal winter and heightened tensions within their fractured group.

The previous season ended with an explosive flashback in which the survivors lost their refuge to a devastating fire, while a present-day storyline featured the accidental death of a key character, raising stakes for the returning cast.

“In Season 3, as summer arrives, the Yellowjackets face a fragile victory… distrust in leadership and tension jeopardize their chances of being rescued,” Paramount+ stated. The series will feature new episodes every Sunday starting February 23, with two episodes launching on the initial premiere day.

The returning ensemble cast includes Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Lauren Ambrose, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Christina Ricci. This season also welcomes two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank, known for her roles in Boys Don’t Cry and Million Dollar Baby, alongside Joel McHale.

Audiences have praised the series, with Season 1 garnering a 100% “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes and Season 2 achieving a 94% rating based on 170 reviews. As excitement builds for the new season, fans are reminded that a subscription to Paramount+ with Showtime is necessary to access the series, costing $12.99 monthly or $119.99 annually.

Viewers eagerly await to uncover how the characters will confront their past traumas as they navigate the complexities of survival, leadership, and trust. “Who are they really, and what dark truths are they hiding from each other and themselves?” the season’s promotional materials tease, hinting at a deeply engaging narrative filled with unexpected twists.

Yellowjackets Season 3 premieres on February 14, 2025, on Paramount+ with Showtime. Fans are encouraged to catch the first two episodes before subsequent weekly releases, ensuring they remain engaged with all the unexpected thrills set to unfold this season.
