Young entrepreneurs Phil Turner and Rachel Woodford reached the pinnacle of success on the latest season of BBC One‘s reality show, The Apprentice, securing Lord Alan Sugar‘s coveted investment of £250,000. Turner, the pie company owner hailing from Bognor Regis, and Woodford, the fitness studio owner from Leeds, went head-to-head in the ultimate business showdown.

Woodford, who launched her boutique gym business, North Studio, during the pandemic, showcased her business acumen throughout the series. The finale saw the two finalists present their innovative business plans to Lord Sugar and expert industry judges, vying for the lucrative investment.

After the intense pitch sessions, it was revealed that Woodford’s dedication to North Studio and her vision for expansion resonated with Lord Sugar. Turner, a seasoned piemaker with businesses in Yorkshire and West Sussex, captivated the audience with his passion for his family-owned pie business and his unique venture ‘pies by post’.

Lord Sugar’s aides, Baroness Karren Brady and Tim Campbell, provided insights into the finalists. Baroness Brady praised Woodford’s passion for her fitness business, highlighting the challenges of scaling gyms. On the other hand, Campbell commended Turner’s commitment to his specialized pie business and postal service venture.

In a nail-biting decision, Lord Sugar ultimately selected Woodford as his business partner, drawn to her entrepreneurial spirit and plans for growth. Following the finale, Turner and Woodford shared their excitement for the future, with Woodford planning the launch of a third gym in either Newcastle or Yorkshire.

Reflecting on their experiences on TikTok, both entrepreneurs expressed surprise at the platform’s embrace of The Apprentice contestants. Turner, particularly popular on TikTok, noted its unexpected impact on his business and outreach. Woodford advised aspiring entrepreneurs to stay dedicated and passionate, emphasizing the challenges and rewards of building a successful business.
