Youngstacpt To Bring Cape Town Vibes To Cape Town Carnival

On Saturday, the vibrant city of Cape Town is set to come alive with the annual Cape Town Carnival, a spectacle that will see over 1,500 performers from various communities across the city converging in the lively area of Green Point.

This year’s carnival promises a unique twist as local rap sensation YoungstaCPT is scheduled to grace the event, bringing his signature Cape Town vibes to the festivities with a live performance of his hit song ‘Just Be Lekker’ atop the Schweet float.

The Cape Town Carnival, a beloved event in the city’s calendar, will feature a kaleidoscope of dazzling performances and fantastical floats parading down Somerset Road, much to the delight of spectators.

The procession will wind its way along the famous Fan Walk in Green Point, showcasing the elaborate creations of community groups, choreographers, costume designers, and float builders who have painstakingly prepared for this extravaganza.

The event kicks off at 3pm with the opening of the Carnival Village, offering a hub of activities, food vendors, and entertainment to delight attendees before the parade sets off.

As evening descends, the air will be filled with the sounds of marching bands, African beats, belly dancers, and a myriad of other captivating performances that promise to enchant onlookers of all ages.

Cape Town Carnival’s chief executive, Jay Douwes, expressed his excitement for the event, highlighting the dedication and creativity that have gone into crafting this year’s spectacle, urging Capetonians to partake in the festivities.

For those seeking a prime view of the parade, tickets are available for seats in designated stands along the parade route through Quicket, while general admission to the event is free, welcoming all to join in the celebration of local talent and creativity.
