YouTuber WhistlinDiesel Arrested for Alleged Tax Evasion in Tennessee
NASHVILLE, Tennessee – Cody Detwiler, known online as WhistlinDiesel, was arrested for alleged tax evasion on November 12, 2025. The 27-year-old YouTuber faces two felony charges in connection with the sales tax owed on his 2020 Ferrari F8 Tributo, which he purchased in January 2023.
Detwiler was apprehended in Tennessee on Wednesday and later released from Williamson County Court on a bond of $2 million. His first court hearing is scheduled for November 19, 2025.
In a post on social media addressing his arrest, Detwiler claimed, “I didn’t do ANYTHING,” asserting his innocence. His supporters took to the comments to express their backing, with one user writing, “Rooting for you brother!” and another adding, “Don’t worry bro I got your bond.”
WhistlinDiesel is known for his extreme automotive stunts, including a viral incident in August 2023 where his Ferrari caught fire after being driven through a cornfield. At the time, Detwiler lamented the loss of what he called “half a million dollars” after the incident.
His YouTube channel, which rose to fame for its entertaining automobile content, boasts over 10 million subscribers. Detwiler’s style often includes destroying luxury cars in various ways, making him a well-known figure in the vehicle enthusiast community.
