Zach Edey, Cedric Coward Set to Play Against Spurs
San Antonio, Texas — The Memphis Grizzlies are set to face the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. CST at the Frost Bank Center, with centers Zach Edey and rookie guard Cedric Coward expected to be in the lineup. However, their minutes will be monitored by head coach Tuomas Iisalo.
Entering the matchup, Memphis is struggling with a four-game losing streak, now owning a record of 4-10. Their last defeat came against the New York Knicks, leaving them looking for a reversal of fortune in this nationally televised game on NBC and Peacock.
The Spurs come into this game standing at 9-4. Despite the Grizzlies holding a recent upper hand, winning the last five season series meetings, San Antonio won the last game between these teams 130-128 at FedEx Forum on March 1, 2025.
The Spurs currently list Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, Dylan Harper, Jordan McLaughlin, and others as injured; meanwhile, the Grizzlies are without Ja Morant, Ty Jerome, and Scotty Pippen Jr., among others, due to injuries.
Iisalo commented on the situation regarding Edey and Coward’s playing time: ‘It’s a challenging situation because both guys have done a great job for us. We would like to play them a lot, but we must be smart because their future is also very important for us.’
As both teams fight for momentum early in the season, this game represents a pivotal moment for Memphis to regain stability amid challenges.
