Zendaya Sydney Sweeney Euphoria Controversies

Los Angeles, CA – Rumors are swirling that Zendaya is hesitant to work with her co-star Sydney Sweeney on the upcoming season of HBO‘s ‘Euphoria.’ The speculation arises amidst ongoing controversies surrounding Sweeney’s public image.

Self-proclaimed “pop culture investigator” Rodger Hooks claimed that Zendaya, now an established A-lister, does not want to risk her reputation due to Sweeney’s recent controversies. Hooks noted, “Zendaya has always been a star, but since the last season of ‘Euphoria,’ she has bumped up to an A-lister, and I don’t think she wants Sydney Sweeney’s drama dragging her down.”

While the rumors remain unconfirmed, there have been no official statements from either actress or HBO. Reports suggest that although Sweeney may understand the situation, Zendaya’s concerns stem from Sweeney’s controversial brand deals and public backlash over various incidents, including a politically charged birthday party for her mother.

In 2022, Sweeney faced criticism after social media users spotted guests wearing MAGA-style hats at the celebration. Sweeney labeled the incident as a misunderstanding, insisting the party was intended as a simple family celebration.

Moreover, the actress has been at the center of negative discussions regarding her collaboration with Dr. Squatch, a soap company that featured her name and allegedly used her bathwater in its product. Sweeney responded to backlash over this campaign, explaining that she loves wearing jeans and insisted the advertisement was solely about promoting jeans, not eugenics.

Despite these issues, Sweeney continues to appear in public alongside musician Scooter Braun, confirming their romantic relationship earlier this year.

<p As for 'Euphoria,' production for season three began in February, and it is slated for release in 2026. The new season will feature time jumps, taking characters into new life stages. Zendaya remarked on the anticipated developments and expressed excitement about exploring her character Rue's journey towards sobriety.

The main cast is returning, which includes Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, and Jacob Elordi. Notable musicians and actors will also make appearances, including Rosalía and Marshawn Lynch.
