Great British Rail Sale: Over One Million Discounted Tickets Available For Travelers

The Great British Rail Sale is now on with over a million discounted tickets available to travelers. From January 23 to 29, passengers can claim up to 50% off selected Advance and Off-Peak rail tickets through the Great British Rail Sale. Rail ticket prices will be slashed on many routes over six weeks in the week-long sale, the Department for Transport announced last week.

The Rail Delivery Group is hosting a central webpage helping customers find the best deals, and tickets can also be found on all ticket retailer websites, for journeys taking place between January 30 and March 15.

It is important to note that there is only a limited number of tickets available, and no further sale tickets will go on offer once they are sold out.

Transport Secretary Mark Harper expressed his excitement about the return of the Great British Rail Sale, stating that it was good news for passengers. He mentioned the success of the previous sale, which provided around £7m in savings on travel costs. Harper encouraged passengers to make the most of the sale and choose to travel by rail, connecting with friends and family and exploring great destinations across England and Wales.

The sale includes journeys on thousands of popular routes in England and Wales, and there are also discounted tickets available for cross-border trips into Scotland. Travelers can enjoy the discounted fares between January 30 and March 15.

Jacqueline Starr, Chief Executive of the Rail Delivery Group, expressed her enthusiasm about the Great British Rail Sale, noting that it presents a wonderful opportunity for passengers to take advantage of affordable travel options and explore various destinations throughout the country.
