Amitabh Bachchan Makes Rare Appearance at ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Promotional Event in Mumbai

Amitabh Bachchan made a surprise appearance at the promotional event for ‘Kalki 2898 AD‘ in Mumbai, joining his co-stars Deepika Padukone and Prabhas. This rare appearance delighted fans who haven’t seen much of the iconic Bollywood actor in public, especially since the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a heartfelt blog post following the event, Bachchan expressed that his presence was a tribute to the producers, Vyjayanthi Movies, whom he described as a humble production team and, notably, run by the daughters of the head.

Bachchan shared his delight at being a part of director Nag Ashwin‘s visionary project, ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ highlighting the joy of working on such an extraordinary and thought-provoking film that he never imagined.

At the event, Bachchan purchased the first ticket of the film from producer Ashwani Dutt, emphasizing the tradition of buying the first ticket from the producer. He praised Dutt’s humility and described him as a simple and humble individual, touching his feet as a sign of respect.

Prabhas, Bachchan’s co-star, expressed his childhood admiration for the Bollywood legend, recalling how Bachchan’s hairstyle was a popular trend and how watching his films was a part of growing up. Prabhas thanked the producers and director of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ for the opportunity to work alongside legends like Bachchan and Kamal Haasan.

Deepika Padukone, who plays a pivotal role in the film, shared her experience of working with Prabhas and appreciated his care and generosity on set. She also commended the passion of the director, Nag Ashwin, and described the film as an unparalleled experience unlike anything seen before.
