Memphis Severe Thunderstorm Weather

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Severe thunderstorm warnings are currently in effect for Coahoma, Lee, Phillips, and Tunica counties until 9:00 a.m. Quitman and Panola counties are also under a severe thunderstorm warning until 9:15 a.m.

Residents should prepare for chances of showers and thunderstorms each day through Tuesday. With outdoor events expected, it’s advised to have a backup plan.

A few storms may pass through the region today, though not everyone will experience rain. The majority of storm activity is expected to occur during the evening hours, with a significant risk of severe thunderstorms on Tuesday.

Afternoon temperatures will remain in the 80s through Tuesday, but cooler and less humid conditions are forecasted to arrive midweek, accompanying mostly sunny days.

The forecast for today includes partly sunny skies with a 40% chance of showers and storms, reaching a high of 86 degrees. Tonight, storms are likely with a 70% chance, and temperatures are expected to drop to around 71 degrees.

Looking ahead, Monday is set to be partly cloudy during the day with storms expected overnight, reaching highs of 87 and lows of 72. Tuesday will see an 80% chance of storms with a high of 84 and a low of 62.

By Wednesday, conditions will be cooler and drier with highs around 73 and lows of 54. Sunny weather is predicted on Thursday with a high of 72 and lows of 57. The forecast for Friday includes mostly sunny skies and a high of 75 with lows of 60. A 20% chance of rain is expected on Saturday with temperatures peaking at 76 degrees.
