Cooler Weather Arrives in the Carolinas Ahead of Weekend Storms

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Meteorologist Sydney Sullivan provides an optimistic weather outlook for the Carolinas following recent storms. Clear skies are expected Wednesday night, with breezy conditions and temperatures dropping to the upper 50s.
On Thursday, sunshine will dominate the weather, bringing highs in the low 80s. Wind conditions are forecasted to remain steady throughout the day, making for a pleasant atmosphere. This warm stretch is set to last through Saturday, although cooler temperatures are anticipated as the week progresses.
Overnight lows will fall into the 40s in mountainous areas and the 50s in the Upstate. Daytime temperatures will range back into the 70s, offering enjoyable conditions for outdoor activities.
However, as the weekend approaches, rain chances are expected to increase starting Sunday. According to Sullivan, storms originating from Kansas will create a likelihood for severe weather by Sunday evening, potentially impacting various areas.
This weather system could result in strong winds and large hail overnight. Monday may also see a continuation of inclement conditions, with the potential for scattered storms and cooler temperatures hovering in the mid-60s.
In total, parts of the Omaha region may experience 1.0 to 2.0 inches of rain from Sunday night through Tuesday, according to forecasts. Following this period, the sun is predicted to return midweek, although temperatures will remain below average.
