Omaha Police Chase Crash Highway 75

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A police chase ended in a crash near Highway 75 and Hamilton Street Thursday evening.

The incident began when Omaha Police received a report of a man attempting to run over a woman in a business park area north of downtown Omaha. Officers were dispatched to 14th and California streets around 7:15 p.m.

According to OPD, an officer spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s car as it got onto the Interstate 480/Highway 75 on-ramp. The officer signaled the driver of the white 2004 Nissan Maxima to pull over.

When the driver failed to stop, the officer initiated a pursuit. The chase ended when the vehicle crashed near Highway 75 and Hamilton Street.

Following the crash, the 30-year-old driver fled the scene but was quickly apprehended by police. He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, but no injuries were reported. Upon being cleared by medical personnel, OPD stated that the suspect would be booked into Douglas County Corrections.
