Wolverhampton, England – After losing three consecutive matches, Wolverhampton Wanderers will try to end their 2024/25 Premier League campaign on a high note against Brentford at Molineux on Sunday.

Wolves, who were on a six-match winning streak earlier this season, faced a setback last week in a defeat to Crystal Palace. Questions linger about the potential return of star forward Matheus Cunha, who did not start in that match.

Brentford, sitting in ninth place in the league, still has an opportunity to qualify for European competition despite their recent home loss to Fulham. Brentford manager Thomas Frank’s squad, which has excelled on the road, hopes to capitalize on Wolverhampton’s current struggles.

Football analyst Chris Sutton predicted the match would end in a 1-1 draw. He reflected on Wolves’ inconsistency, stating, “I am not sure which Wolves we will see here – after going on a six-match winning streak, they have now lost three games in a row.”

Brentford’s recent run of form includes only one away loss since Christmas, a testament to their strong performance. Sutton noted, “Brentford will want to put their last game behind them. They were leading 2-1 against Fulham and ended up losing that match.”

On the other hand, former player Paul Merson believes Brentford will overpower Wolves, predicting a 2-0 victory for the visitors. He remarked, “It was a bad result for Wolves the other day. Crystal Palace would’ve been partying all week after the FA Cup win, and they still beat Wolves!”

As both teams approach the final game of the season with different motivations, Wolves aim to defy expectations and finish with a strong showing.
