This disruption, which began earlier in the day, prompted widespread frustration among content creators who turned to humor, sharing memes on social media to cope with the inconvenience.
As the news of the outage spread, the hashtag “Canva down” began trending on X. Users quickly flooded the platform with humorous memes and reactions to convey their frustration. Some expressed their panic, particularly those with tight deadlines for projects. One user, Robyn Keet, shared her distress with a post that read, “I have a presentation in 10 minutes – shucks,” tagging Canva for help.
Other users also captured their feelings with GIFs, including a popular one featuring SpongeBob SquarePants. This collective outpouring of creativity underscored how integral Canva has become to many people’s work routines.
The Canva team responded to the outage on social media, acknowledging the issue and informing users that their engineering team was investigating the cause. “We’re aware some people are having trouble accessing Canva. We’re working as quickly as we can to get things back up and running,” they said in a statement.
By around 1 PM IST, Canva provided an update noting that they were still working on a fix, reassuring users that they appreciated their patience during this time. Many are hopeful for a swift resolution, as they rely on the platform for their creative projects.
