Body Found in South Park Pond Identified as Kevin Ryan Stewart

SOUTH PARK TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Authorities have identified a man whose body was discovered in a pond in South Park on Sunday morning. Police responded to reports of the body found near Maple Springs Drive around 7:45 a.m.

The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Kevin Ryan Stewart, a resident of Bethel Park. Allegheny County police officials were alerted to the scene and quickly began their investigation.

Investigators noted that there were no obvious signs of trauma on Stewart’s body. The cause of death remains undetermined, pending a report from the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office.

The Department stated that homicide detectives were called to assist with the case. An active investigation is ongoing.
