Ground Stop Lifted at Orlando Airport Amid Severe Weather

ORLANDO, Fla. — A ground stop was issued Friday morning at Orlando International Airport due to high winds from severe weather in the area. The hold affected incoming and outgoing flights, beginning around 10:30 a.m.
Airport officials confirmed that the ground stop was lifted one hour later, at 11:30 a.m., as the line of storms moved out of the region. Travelers are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport, as conditions can change quickly.
The FOX 35 Storm Team forecast reported strong storms across Central Florida, with expected gusty winds, hail, and heavy rain. A cold front moving in early Saturday promises morning storms followed by cooler temperatures later in the day, with highs reaching the mid-80s.
