Celebrate Pride Month with Local Events in Bucks and Montgomery Counties

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. — June brings Pride Month, a period marked by celebration and reflection for the LGBTQ+ community. Communities across the nation will come together to honor the progress made in the struggle for equal rights, while shining a light on ongoing issues affecting LGBTQ+ individuals.
The first Pride marches took place in 1970 in New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago, commemorating the first anniversary of the Stonewall riots. Today, Pride Month features numerous events designed to uplift and support the LGBTQ+ community.
In Bucks and Montgomery Counties, there are several events planned to celebrate. One highlight includes a Pride flag-raising ceremony by local LGBTQ+ youth at the old courthouse lawn, followed by a pride walk to Borough Hall where a second flag will be raised.
Lower Gwynedd Township will hold a pride flag raising at Veterans Memorial Park, featuring free pride merchandise and an all-ages after-party at Vault Brewing. Nearby, the Abington Township Public Library invites residents to a free outdoor event with live performances, crafts, giveaways, and food trucks.
Bristol Borough will host its annual pride celebration at Energy Ripple, featuring food vendors, drag performances, and local nonprofits. The art museum will also hold a life drawing workshop with drag performers posing as models, providing an adults-only experience where registration is required.
For families, the Upper Dublin High School cafeteria will be full of fun with crafts, games, performances, and food, all free and open to the community. Additionally, a Pride Month film series will begin with a collection of short films suitable for ages 10 and up on various LGBTQ+ experiences.
A Walk & Roll event in Lansdale starts at Trinity Lutheran Church, promoting pride and allyship along West Main Street. Participants are encouraged to stay for a family-friendly celebration hosted by the Rotary Club of North Penn.
Other events include an art class led by mixed media artist Taylor Rae Cole for youth in grades 6–12, as well as a pride festival featuring live music and food at Grace Presbyterian Church in collaboration with the Jenkintown Library.
The Doylestown Pride Fest will showcase local performances in an outdoor concert format, and a block party with musical performances and vendors will occur on East State Street. The Rainbow Room will set the stage for LGBTQ+ youth to showcase their talents with music and art.
Finally, the Grand River Farmers Market in Jackson will celebrate pride with specialty vendors and live music. Several indoor and outdoor festivals are planned, featuring local organizations and opportunities for community engagement.
