Desmond Felts Atlanta Shooting

ATLANTA, Ga. — A man wanted for a double shooting that occurred in southwest Atlanta has been arrested. Desmond Felts, 24, was taken into custody at the Clayton County Jail on June 1 and is now facing serious charges.

The Atlanta Police Department confirmed that Felts is charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of armed robbery. These charges relate to a shooting incident on April 18, which left one man dead and another in critical condition.

Early that morning, police responded to reports of gunfire at around 12:17 a.m. near 70 Newcastle Street SW. Officers found a 33-year-old man who had been shot and was unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, a 32-year-old man, was discovered nearby suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

Following the incident, investigators released surveillance images of two individuals they believe were involved. One suspect was noted to have worn a T-shirt reading, “In Draco We Trust,” while the other was recognized by his dread-style hair and knee-length jacket.

Authorities continue to seek assistance from the public. Tips can be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers Atlanta by calling 404-577-TIPS (8477), or by texting “CSA” and the information to CRIMES (274637). A reward of up to $5,000 is available for any information leading to an arrest.

As the investigation continues, police have yet to identify a second suspect or the two shooting victims. Any further details could help bring closure to the families affected by this tragic event.
