Shooting at WestFest Leaves Several Injured in West Valley City

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (KUTV) — Several people were injured in a shooting at a festival in West Valley City on Sunday night.

The West Valley City Police Department confirmed the shooting occurred during WestFest, an annual city festival held at Centennial Park. The festival was scheduled to end at 11 p.m. that evening.

Authorities initiated an investigation at the scene, leading to the closure of northbound 5600 W at 3500 S shortly before 9:40 p.m.

While police have confirmed that multiple victims were shot, they have not disclosed specific details about the number of injured individuals.

A significant police presence was reported around the area of 5600 West and 3100 South. A FOX 13 News crew was dispatched to cover the unfolding situation.
