Yabusele is regarded as an underrated asset, bringing versatility as a strong backup big man, which could complement the lineup alongside Karl-Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson. The Knicks have emphasized the need for depth after struggling in that area last season.

As the team gears up for the Las Vegas Summer League from July 10 to 20, new head coach Mike Brown is focusing on molding a roster capable of contending in the upcoming season. Colin Ward-Henninger from CBS Sports recently placed the Knicks at No. 3 in their power rankings, highlighting the need for additional veterans to improve their chances of success.

In addition, the team is monitoring the status of free agent Landry Shamet, who could provide continuity from last season if he re-signs. Eric Pincus from Bleacher Report noted, “Shamet’s ability to shoot from three-point range would be valuable, especially if his role expands.”

Meanwhile, veteran guard Delon Wright remains a free agent after a productive stint with the Knicks, where he provided leadership and defensive skills. Wright has been recognized as the 23rd-best free agent available, positioning himself as a potential returnee should the Knicks fail to land a bigger name.
