Head-On Collision Claims Life, Injures Child in Sacramento County

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — One person died and two others were injured in a head-on collision on August 5, 2025, around 4:30 p.m., near the intersection of Grant Line and White Rock roads, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The crash involved a Hyundai Elantra traveling north and a Subaru Impreza heading south. The impact resulted in the death of a 21-year-old man who was driving the Hyundai. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 12-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the Hyundai, suffered major injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The 24-year-old driver of the Subaru also sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized for treatment.

The circumstances leading up to the collision remain unclear, and CHP officials said it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were contributing factors.

Emergency crews from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded quickly, closing traffic in the area for several hours as they conducted their investigation and cleared the wreckage.
