Chicago, IL — The Chicago Bears are looking into trade options for offensive lineman Jordan McFadden as the NFL roster cutdown deadline approaches. According to ESPN‘s Jeremy Fowler, the team is evaluating the possibility of moving McFadden ahead of the final 53-man roster announcement.

The Bears claimed McFadden off waivers from the Los Angeles Chargers in January. Since joining the team, he has been competing in training camp, working primarily with the reserves. McFadden has logged 124 snaps in the preseason and achieved a respectable Pro Football Focus grade of 79.9.

At 25 years old, McFadden was a standout player at Clemson, where he was a three-year starter. He received second and first-team All-ACC selections during his final two seasons. The Chargers drafted him in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Despite his talent, McFadden finds himself in a crowded interior offensive line position with the Bears. His chances of securing a spot on the final roster appear slim amid fierce competition. General manager Ryan Poles may attempt to trade McFadden along with a 2026 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick, similar to a previous trade with the Houston Texans to acquire defensive tackle Chris Williams.

As the roster decisions loom, it’s unclear what direction the Bears will take. McFadden’s future with the team seems uncertain, and the front office is weighing its options carefully.
