Jenna Elfman Hails ‘Shifting Gears’ Season 2 as Iconic and Fun

LOS ANGELES, CA — Jenna Elfman is excited about the upcoming Season 2 of ABC‘s multicam sitcom, “Shifting Gears,” which premieres on October 1. The actress, who portrays Eve, a dance instructor, believes the new season will run even smoother than the first.
“It’s so well-written and so genuinely funny. It feels very iconic to be back on ABC in a really good sitcom,” Elfman told TheWrap during ABC’s Summer Soirée on September 5. She expressed excitement about her chemistry with co-stars Tim Allen and Kat Dennings, stating, “Everybody has amazing chemistry. They’re writing for the actors extremely well this year.”
Elfman joined “Shifting Gears” as a recurring character in Season 1 and is set to return to challenge and flirt with Allen’s character, Matt. The two have previously worked together in the film “The Six Wives of Henry Lefay.” “He’s a legend, and I love that Kat Dennings is on it with him; that was a huge draw for me too,” Elfman said.
The actress shared that her family enjoys watching sitcoms together at night, making her role in “Shifting Gears” even more special. “I feel really excited to be on one again. … This one does and it’s even better than it was last season,” she added, emphasizing her enthusiasm for sharing laughter with the audience.
The renewed energy comes after the first season ended with a thrilling finale that saw Matt and Eve share a kiss, leaving fans eager for Season 2. The show, which has seen fluctuations in ratings, will face new challenges in its upcoming episodes.
“Shifting Gears” will continue to explore the dynamics of family and relationships as Matt navigates life as a widowed father. The new season also promises special guest stars, further enticing viewers. Elfman concluded, “I’m excited for the audience to laugh. That feeling when you’re at home and you are having a genuine laugh and getting relief from your day? I’m excited to share that.”
