Club América Re-signs Ramón Juárez for Three More Years

MÉXICO — Ramón Juárez, the central defender for Club América, has signed a three-year contract extension with the team, ensuring his stay until 2029. This new deal includes a raise and a flexibility clause for potential offers from abroad.
Juárez, who joined the club’s youth academy at 14, expressed his gratitude for the renewal. “I am very thankful to God for this new contract; it shows the fruits of my hard work for so many years,” he said. “I arrived at the club when I was just 14, and it’s now been 10 years.”
The 24-year-old made his professional debut in the 2019 Apertura Tournament against another team at Estadio Banorte, under coach Miguel Herrera. In the two tournaments of 2022, he was loaned to Atlético de San Luis to gain more first-team experience and returned to Club América more seasoned.
During his time with Atlético, Juárez earned a starting role under coach André Jardine, which carried over upon his return to América in 2023. He played a significant part in the team’s recent tri-championship run, especially contributing during injury periods of other players.
Despite not being a consistent starter since the return of Igor Lichnovsky, Juárez continues to impress when called upon. The Club América fans have expressed their desire for him to reclaim a starting spot, suggesting he deserves more playing time over Lichnovsky.
The club acknowledged the importance of keeping the talented defender, especially after his solid performances in recent tournaments. Juárez is now ready to fight for a more regular role in the team as they head into upcoming matches.
“As a child, I dreamed of playing for America. If you had told the 10-year-old me that I would achieve 100 games with my dream team, I wouldn’t have believed it,” Juárez said during an interview, expressing his excitement for his future with the club.
