Cowboys’ Receivers Hit With Heavy Fines After Overtime Victory
ARLINGTON, Texas — Dallas Cowboys receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens faced significant fines after last Sunday’s overtime victory against the New York Giants.
Lamb was fined a total of $26,084. This included $11,593 for taunting a Giants player during the second quarter and $14,491 for a violent gesture in the fourth quarter. The penalties for his actions were enforced; however, the latter was not called during the game.
Pickens also received a hefty fine total of $28,982 for his actions in the final minute of regulation. He was penalized $14,491 for removing his helmet and another $14,491 for taunting.
The combined fines for both players totaled $55,066, a substantial hit for both performing athletes as the NFL continues to enforce its rules on player conduct.
Fines like these are part of an ongoing effort by the NFL to promote sportsmanship and maintain decorum on the field.
