UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Nittany Lions are set to face the Oregon Ducks in a much-anticipated Big Ten matchup on Saturday, September 27, at Beaver Stadium. This game marks the return of the Nittany Lions to action since their last appearance on November 2, 2024, against Ohio State.

No. 2 Penn State will host No. 6 Oregon in front of a packed crowd, bolstered by the presence of ESPN’s College GameDay. The event will be broadcast live from Penn State’s Old Main lawn starting at 9 a.m. ET, leading up to the primetime game scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on NBC.

In 2024, during their last encounter, the Buckeyes narrowly defeated Penn State 20-13. This time, the Nittany Lions aim to reclaim their winning form, having last secured a victory in the 2022 Rose Bowl against then-No. 8 Utah.

After three non-conference wins this season, Penn State, currently 3-0, is looking to avenge last year’s loss against Oregon, who triumphed 45-37 in the Big Ten Championship game. Meanwhile, the Ducks are riding high with a 4-0 start, fresh off a 41-7 win over rival Oregon State.

In addition to the competitive spirit, the matchup also resurrects a rivalry that dates back to their only previous meeting in 1964, which Oregon won 22-14. Penn State head coach James Franklin expressed excitement about hosting College GameDay again, highlighting the unique atmosphere and support from the fans.

Oregon coach Dan Lanning also acknowledged the significance of playing in such a respected venue. “Penn State will be an unbelievable venue,” he stated, emphasizing the challenge and excitement this game presents to his team.

As the euphoric buzz around the match continues to build, both teams will be prepared to make their mark in what could be a significant turning point for each program this season.
