LOS ANGELES, CA – Popular series Nurse Jackie is set to return to Netflix on October 7, 2025, after an absence of five years. The show stars Edie Falco as Jackie Peyton, a skilled but troubled ER nurse who struggles with addiction and balances the challenges of her personal and professional life.

The series originally aired on Showtime from 2009 to 2015, running for seven seasons and a total of 80 episodes. Following its departure from Netflix in 2020, it became difficult for fans to access, turning up sporadically on smaller streaming platforms like Philo and The Roku App.

Alongside Falco, the cast includes Merritt Wever, Paul Schulze, Dominic Fumusa, and Anna Deavere Smith. The series was created by Liz Brixius, Evan Dunsky, and Linda Wallem, with Caryn Mandabach as the executive producer. Lionsgate Television holds the rights to the show.

Initially, Nurse Jackie was part of a larger licensing agreement that included other titles following Lionsgate Television‘s split from Starz earlier this year. The return of the series is part of Netflix’s plan to reunite with fan-favorite shows.

Fans are eager to rewatch or experience the series for the first time and are encouraged to share their thoughts in the comments. With its mix of humor and drama, Nurse Jackie showcases the complex life of healthcare professionals.
