Survivor Season 49 Castaways Competition

LOS ANGELES, CA — The popular reality show Survivor is back for its 49th season, featuring 18 new castaways vying for a $1 million grand prize. The season premiered on September 25, 2025, with fans eager to see who will outwit and outplay their fellow competitors.

Contestants are dropped on a remote island in Fiji, where they are divided into three tribes: Kele, Hina, and Uli. As they navigate challenges and form alliances, players aim for the title of Sole Survivor, which is awarded after 26 days of tough gameplay.

Returning host Jeff Probst teased this season as one of the “hottest,” indicating the gameplay will be more intense than ever. He described the early stages as “pretty exhausting” for the players and hinted at unpredictable developments as the season progresses.

This season also features two alternate players, Jason Treul and Michelle ‘MC’ Chukwujekwu, who were unexpectedly thrust into the competition after two original players were sent home before the game began.

The new season will air episodes weekly on CBS and stream on Paramount+. Following the two-hour premiere, the show will transition to 90-minute episodes starting October 1. CBS has not confirmed the total number of episodes for this season, but previous seasons generally include around 13 episodes.

New episodes will air every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and will be available a day later for Paramount+ Essential subscribers. Current promotional offers include a free week for new subscribers, allowing access to watch the latest season of Survivor and catch up on past seasons.
