Florida Ticket Wins $1 Million as Powerball Jackpot Grows

JACKSONVILLE, Florida — A ticket sold in Jacksonville matched five numbers in the Powerball lottery, winning $1 million in the drawing held on September 29, 2025. This prize comes as the Powerball jackpot climbs to an estimated $174 million for the next drawing on October 1.
The winning numbers for the September 29 drawing were 1, 3, 27, 60, 65, and the Powerball was 16. The Power Play multiplier was set at 5x. Winning tickets were also sold in Illinois, New York, and Washington, each earning $1 million.
The ticket that won in Jacksonville was purchased at Golden Ox Liquors on Normandy Boulevard. As ticket sales rise, the grand prize has faced several rollovers, increasing from $160 million after no tickets matched all six numbers in the previous draw.
On September 6, a historic Powerball jackpot of $1.787 billion was awarded to two tickets from Texas and Missouri, both of which matched all numbers in that drawing. Since then, the Powerball has rolled over nine times.
The next drawing, scheduled for October 1 at 10:59 p.m. ET, will offer a cash option of $80.7 million for the jackpot. Players hoping to win should remember that the odds of hitting the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million, while winning $1 million has odds of 1 in 11,688,053.52.
Florida Lottery regulations state that winners must claim their prizes within 180 days of the drawing. For a cash option, players have 60 days from the drawing date to claim their winnings. However, Florida law requires that winners’ information be made public, although anonymous claims are possible under certain conditions.
As excitement builds for the upcoming draw, many in Jacksonville and beyond are hoping for another lucky win.
