TOPSFIELD, Mass. — The Topsfield Fair kicks off its 207th year on Friday, featuring the famed Budweiser Clydesdales and an array of family-friendly activities. The fair will showcase a giant pumpkin weigh-off and the Premier Flower Show, along with 100 food vendors and 200 additional vendors.

General Manager Jim O'Brien highlights that the fair focuses on family-oriented events. u201cWe focus on events and entertainment that work with families; weu2019re more family-oriented than most fairs,u201d said O’Brien. This year, he expects great weather and excitement, stating, u201cItu2019s going to be a great fair. Weu2019re looking at great weather and exciting opportunities this year.u201d

The Budweiser Clydesdales will parade around the fairgrounds twice daily, providing fans a chance to see the majestic horses up close. u201cThey’ll be going around the grounds twice a day, and the people will be able to see them up close,u201d O’Brien added.

The fair not only attracts crowds from the local area but also visitors from far away, which generates significant economic benefits. u201cYes, they spend the day here, but a lot of people come from farther away and stay overnight, so it generates a huge dollar value,u201d O’Brien explained.

The Topsfield Fair runs from October 3 through October 13. It is known as the 30th largest fair in the country, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors and generating millions in local revenue.
