SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Seth Curry signed a one-year contract to join the Golden State Warriors on October 2, 2025, realizing a long-held dream of teaming up with his brother Stephen Curry. Seth has often expressed a desire to carve his own path in the NBA, but with both brothers approaching the twilight of their careers, he decided to accept the opportunity.

“I’ve said a few times in the past that I don’t want to be on the same team, that I want to create my own path,” Seth said during his introductory press conference. “But I’m comfortable being here now, and definitely everybody is excited, and I’m excited.”

The entire Curry family is thrilled about the decision, although their father, former NBA guard Dell Curry, had mixed feelings. Seth reflected humorously, “Instead of watching multiple games, it should be easier to watch just one game.”

Seth, 35, was the Warriors’ third free-agent signing during the offseason, joining Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton. He signed a minimum contract, and while he may not possess the same scoring firepower as Stephen, Seth has proven himself as an elite shooter throughout his career.

Last season with the Charlotte Hornets, Seth played in 68 games and led the league with a 45.6% shooting accuracy from beyond the arc. Warriors coach Steve Kerr praised Seth’s abilities, stating, “He’s one of the best shooters in the league, and he’s going to help us win some games this year.”

Over eleven seasons, Seth has maintained a 43.3% accuracy rate from three-point range, with at least 40% in eight seasons. His skills are seen as crucial for the Warriors, especially after the team struggled in the playoffs when Stephen was sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Seth is familiar with the Warriors’ playbook, admitting, “Honestly, I probably watched 95% of Warriors games for the last 16 years. I know their style, and I know how they play.” He is expected to back up third-year guard Brandin Podziemski and compete for minutes with Hield and Melton, who is currently recovering from ACL surgery.

During practice, Seth smiled about the unusual experience of defending against his brother in drills: “It’s a little weird, but it’s practice, and we’re trying to prepare each other for the games.”

Having spent considerable time in the Bay Area, Seth added, “The Bay, I’ve got a lot of love for here, and I’ve felt like it was one of my homes, with Steph being here for so long. It’s good to be here.”
