Kid Rock Targets Ticketmaster in Viral Rant
LOS ANGELES, CA – Kid Rock publicly criticized Live Nation Entertainment and its ticketing subsidiary Ticketmaster in a profanity-laden video posted to social media on Tuesday. The five-time Grammy nominee’s remarks highlight ongoing frustrations among musicians and fans regarding ticket scalping and high service fees.
In a three-minute video, Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, called on fellow musicians to join him in speaking out against the ticketing system. “They filed a f*****g lawsuit against Ticketmaster. Clearly they found out that those m*****f****** are crooks and they’ve been crooks for decades,” he asserted.
Kid Rock slammed Ticketmaster’s practices, stating, “If you buy a ticket and go to a concert, you are their worst customer.” He accused the company of wanting to resell tickets on its platform to profit off fans multiple times. “They get the service charges, they get another whatever percent—17 percent or something—on top of all the other horses*** they’re d*****g you around with,” he added.
The musician condemned Ticketmaster’s inaction, claiming they “could have stopped the bots years ago” and are merely driven by greed. He expressed hope that those involved in the ticketing industry “will go down, personally, right to the f*****g bottom. F*** ’em.”
Kid Rock proposed the need for regulations to ensure that artists can set ticket prices that benefit fans directly. He stressed, “I hope we can figure out ticketing so us as artists, when we set a price, we can get the tickets into the hands of the fans at the prices we set.”
The video has since gained substantial traction, with over 473,500 views on X and 441,000 on Instagram. As of now, none of the artists Kid Rock addressed in his video have publicly responded to his statements.
