2025 Nc State Fair Attractions Rides Events

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) — The 2025 NC State Fair is set to open its gates on Thursday, promising 11 days filled with fun, food, and entertainment. This year’s fair will introduce thrilling new rides and captivating shows, including the Colossus and Kamikaze rides and a Wild West roping performance.

In addition to the new attractions, returning favorites and special event days will enhance the experience for fairgoers. Notable packages, such as the Bright Lights and Boots Package, will be available for those who wish to enjoy both admission and a rodeo ticket.

The fair runs from Thursday, October 16, to Sunday, October 26. People can purchase tickets on-site.

This year features two new ticket packages, including the Bright Lights and Boots Package, which offers an adult Fair admission ticket along with a ticket to the new rodeo, a part of the N.C. State Fair Horse Show lineup.

Daily gates will close at 9:45 p.m., with reentry prohibited after this time. Special discounts apply for active-duty military personnel, reservists, veterans and their dependents, allowing them access for only $8 daily.

Additionally, weekday visitors can enjoy free entry from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. by obtaining a lunch card for $20 at the gate. This allows them to sample various fair foods before returning the card for a full cash refund.

New entertainment features include an exciting Wild West roping and knife-throwing show performed by cowboy Andy Rotz, who is known for his quick draw skills. Fairgoers can also find the Conjurer Fortune Machine, an interactive fortune-telling experience.

The Powers Great American Midway will also present exciting new rides for attendees to enjoy. Free parking is available at multiple locations including the State Fairgrounds and surrounding areas.

Those using clear bags will pass through security more quickly. Outside food, water bottles, and diaper supplies are permitted, but alcohol, weapons, and illegal substances are not allowed.

Special event days include Wolfpack Day on October 17, where NC State students can enter for $8 with ID; Sensory Day on October 19, designed for visitors with sensory sensitivities; Senior Citizens’ Day on October 21, offering free admission for individuals 65 and older; and Military Appreciation Day on October 23, which includes a parade honoring U.S. Military members.

Another significant event is the Smithfield Foods Hunger Relief Day on October 23, allowing visitors to enter for free by donating six canned goods. This initiative has collected over 6 million pounds of food for the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina since its inception.
