Al Pacino Diane Keaton Tribute

PARIS, France — Al Pacino expressed deep sorrow following the recent death of his former partner and co-star, Diane Keaton. Pacino, who is currently in Paris filming with director Luc Besson, described the loss as overwhelming in a heartfelt message shared with Deadline on October 16.

“When I first heard the news, I was shaken,” said Pacino, 85. “Diane was my partner, my friend, someone who brought me happiness and on more than one occasion influenced the direction of my life.” The two actors famously starred together in the critically acclaimed Godfather films as Michael Corleone and Kay Adams, respectively, while also sharing a romantic relationship from 1974 to 1990.

Despite not being together for over three decades, Pacino reflected on the vivid memories they made together. He articulated the emotional weight of her passing, stating, “the memories remain vivid, and with her passing, they have returned with a force that is both painful and moving.”

Praising Keaton’s talent, Pacino elaborated that she lived a life full of energy and inspiration. “She lived without limits, and everything she touched carried her unmistakable energy,” he said. “People will miss her, but more than that, they will remember her. She left a mark that cannot fade. She was unstoppable, resilient and above all, deeply human.”

In addition, Pacino emphasized Keaton’s magnetic presence as an actress, describing her as “lightning and charm, hurricanes and tenderness.” He added, “Acting was her art, but it was only one of the many ways she expressed her imagination and creativity. I will always remember her. She could fly — and in my heart, she always will.”

Following her passing, many from the entertainment industry have shared tributes to Keaton, who is remembered for her significant contributions to film and her vibrant personality. She leaves behind two children, daughter Dexter, 29, and son Duke, 25. Keaton’s legacy in Hollywood and her impact on those who knew her will live on through their memories.
