Ravi Patel Special Forces Reality Show

LOS ANGELES, CA — Actor and documentarian Ravi V. Patel shares his unique experience on the reality series, Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. Patel, known for his upbeat personality, has surprised many with his enthusiasm during the grueling challenges in the competition.

“The staff was pretty put off by my enthusiasm and my constant joy,” Patel told TV Insider. “Their whole goal is to intimidate you and make you feel miserable. But it didn’t work on me.”

Despite his cheerful outlook, Patel admits he faced challenges during the show. “I probably got yelled at the most of anyone on the show because I was a smartass,” he explained. Patel also found an ally in fellow competitor Nick Young, noting, “Nick and I were kind of partners in crime, the jokesters on the show.”

Patel expressed that participating in Special Forces was a chance to push his limits. “As soon as they asked me, I was like, ‘Oh my God, yes,’” he said. He acknowledged his wife, Mahaley Patel, had concerns about his safety, especially given his history of injuries during physical activities.

Unlike most contestants who report trauma, Patel found joy even in the toughest challenges. “I thought it was incredible, one of the most difficult things I’ve done physically,” he noted, adding, “Every time we did something hard, I’m like, ‘Oh, how cool is this?’”

Patel also shared how quickly he formed close bonds with fellow competitors. “Within about 48 hours, we all felt like family,” he said. The experience has left him with lifelong friendships, particularly with those who live near him in Nashville.

Reflecting on the intense challenges, Patel recalled a pivotal moment that tested him physically. “There was one challenge that simulates rescuing a comrade in a village as you’re escaping bombs. It was probably the greatest physical exertion I’ve experienced since junior high football,” he explained.

As Season 4 of Special Forces unfolds, Patel is not just competing but also sharing his personal struggles. In a recent episode, he opened up about the tragic loss of his daughter, Saachi, who died five days after birth in February 2023. “It was the worst time in my life,” he shared. This personal story adds depth to his character on the show.

Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Fox, and viewers can look forward to Patel’s honest reflections alongside the thrilling challenges of the competition.
