Daniel Stern Home Alone Actor News

Somis, California – Actor Daniel Stern, 68, known for his role as Marv in the popular film “Home Alone,” was hospitalized earlier this month due to a medical emergency. The Ventura County Fire Department responded to the incident on October 7 at a residence in Somis.

Firefighters assessed Stern before transporting him to a nearby hospital. Sources later confirmed that he has since been released and is now recovering well. A representative for Stern stated, “He’s now doing well.”

Stern is best remembered for playing Marv Murchins, one half of the comedic duo known as the Wet Bandits, in the beloved holiday classic directed by Chris Columbus. The film was released in 1990, followed by a successful sequel, “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” in 1992.

In addition to his role in “Home Alone,” Stern gained fame for his performances in films such as “City Slickers” and his voice work as Kevin Arnold in the television series “The Wonder Years.” More recently, the actor has distanced himself from Hollywood, choosing to focus on a quieter life on his ranch in California with his wife, Laure Mattos, and their three children.

In an interview, Stern explained his decision to step away from acting. “I made enough money that I didn’t have to work,” he stated. “I bought everything straight up because as an artist, I never knew if I was going to make any more bread.” He further highlighted his financial stability when he asked his wife how much money they needed to maintain their lifestyle without working, to which she responded, “We hit it.”

Stern now enjoys life creating art, growing tangerines, and embracing the peace of nature. “I love my solitude and I love being able to focus on what I’m making,” he said. His transition away from the spotlight has allowed him to find joy in a new artistic path.
