Iowa Hawkeyes Dominate Wisconsin in 37-0 Victory
MADISON, Wisconsin — The Iowa Hawkeyes (4-2, 2-1 Big Ten) delivered a commanding performance on Saturday, defeating the Wisconsin Badgers 37-0. The Hawkeyes showcased their strength on both sides of the ball, dominating the game to earn their second Big Ten Conference win.
Iowa’s defense was relentless, shutting out Wisconsin and further pressuring Head Coach Luke Fickell. Despite missing key players, including starting quarterback Cade McNamara and wide receiver Nico Reganey, Iowa’s rushing attack proved effective, allowing them to navigate without full-strength star power.
Wide receiver Reece Vander Zee returned to action after a six-week absence due to a foot injury. In limited playing time, Vander Zee made a notable impact, catching three passes for 29 yards against the Badgers. He is now listed as a backup to Sam Phillips on the depth chart.
Running backs LaShawn Williams and Kaleb Johnson, who had previously been starters, remain sidelined due to injuries. Williams has not played since the Hawkeyes’ victory over Rutgers on September 19, while Johnson will miss his second consecutive game.
Linebacker Jayden Harrell, a key component of Iowa’s defense, will also miss Saturday’s game against Penn State as he continues to recover from an injury sustained during a previous loss to Indiana.
Junior linebacker Nick Jackson stepped up in Harrell’s absence against Wisconsin and delivered a solid performance. He is expected to start again against Penn State as the Hawkeyes look to maintain their momentum.
