Suns’ Mark Williams Misses Game with Knee Management
PHOENIX, Ariz. — Phoenix Suns center Mark Williams will not play in Saturday’s road game against the Denver Nuggets due to management of a right knee injury. This announcement comes after Williams had his Phoenix debut earlier this week.
Williams, who missed the preseason while ramping up his conditioning, played 24 minutes in the team’s opener against the Sacramento Kings, where he scored six points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and blocked two shots. Head Coach Jordan Ott reflected on Williams’ performance, stating, “He looked good on the court, and his initial reaction after the game was positive.”
In Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Williams played 14 minutes, scoring two points and recording six rebounds. Ott mentioned that they will evaluate Williams’ progress game by game, especially with back-to-back matchups looming.
Meanwhile, guard Jalen Green remains sidelined with a right hamstring strain. Ott confirmed that Green will accompany the team for their road games and that an update on his recovery is expected after the current trip.
The next game tips off at 6 p.m. at Ball Arena in Denver. Fans can catch the action on 98.7 FM and through the Arizona Sports app.
