Natick Library Honors Veterans with Second Annual Storywalk Exhibit
NATICK, Massachusetts – The Morse Institute Library is preparing to honor local veterans through its second annual Veterans’ Storywalk. This unique community exhibit will showcase over 150 personal narratives and will run from November 5 to November 13, 2023.
The Storywalk will officially open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 5, from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Veterans’ stories will be displayed along the sidewalks of Natick Common through informative signs. These signs will be part of the library’s Veterans Oral History Project, which has documented the experiences of more than 350 veterans over the past 28 years.
Mikaela Wolfe, the director of the Morse Institute Library, expressed her appreciation for the veterans who have contributed to the project. “Their voices enrich our community’s understanding of military history and public service,” she commented. Wolfe underscored the importance of honoring the sacrifices made by many servicemen and women for the nation.
The community is encouraged to explore the Stories along the path and reflect on the valuable contributions of local veterans during the Storywalk. The Veterans Oral History Project remains open for new submissions, inviting additional stories from veterans. Interested participants can share their narratives by visiting natickveterans.com or by contacting the library directly.
