Bryan Adams Returns to India, Celebrating Legacy and Music Demand
DULUTH, Ga. — Bryan Adams, a renowned Canadian musician, is exciting fans in India with his upcoming concert tour. Performing alongside fellow rock star Pat Benatar, Adams will take the stage at Gas South Arena this Thursday.
Adams, who gained popularity in the mid-1990s, was one of the first English-language pop artists to tour India. His previous performances led to a greater interest in Western music in the region. “I think they love the fact I helped open the door for more English language acts to tour there,” he told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
He emphasized the importance of bringing music to fans directly, stating, “It’s your responsibility as a musician to bring it to them, which is why I keep touring. I can’t rely on record companies and radio.” Currently on his 17th album, he takes pride in the longevity of his career and the connection he has with his audience.
To keep his performances fresh, Adams allows fans to request songs using a QR code before concerts. This encourages spontaneity in his setlist. He trusts his band, particularly lead guitarist Keith Scott, who has been with him since 1981. “They’re good enough, we don’t even need to rehearse them,” he said.
Adams’ latest album, “Roll with the Punches,” marks a significant shift in his career as it is his first independent release after decades with major labels. He expressed a sense of fulfillment in owning his music and creating a lasting legacy. “I have my own record company, which is a take on my name. I’m creating a catalog to leave to my family,” he added.
The iconic song “Summer of ’69” recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, showcasing its enduring popularity. “Now you can’t walk into a pub anywhere in the world and not hear that song,” Adams observed.
As he prepares for his concert in Duluth, fans eagerly anticipate a night of classic hits and unforgettable performances, solidifying Adams’ status as a beloved figure in the music industry.
