PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania — Comcast‘s Xfinity has unveiled a new short film featuring actor Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard from the widely anticipated movie ‘Wicked: For Good.’ The film is part of Xfinity’s new ‘Imagine That’ brand platform and aims to showcase how the company’s products can enhance everyday experiences.

The ad was released ahead of the film’s theatrical debut on November 21. It follows Goldblum as he exits the premiere of ‘Wicked: For Good,’ viewed through the eyes of a child. The narrative illustrates how Xfinity’s services, including reliable WiFi and smart home connectivity, create magical moments at home.

The film includes cameos by Goldblum’s wife and their two children, highlighting family experiences. “Xfinity powers magical experiences,” Goldblum states in the film. “From everyday tasks to amazing entertainment, it does it all.”

Viewers will spot familiar faces, including Chris Scott, the choreographer of ‘Wicked,’ who appears in the film. Directed by Alice Brooks, the cinematographer for the ‘Wicked’ films, the short was produced by Superprime.

Batu Sener composed the film’s music score, adding elements from the iconic song “Defying Gravity,” which fans of the original film will recognize. The visual effects were crafted by Universal Pictures and Framestore, who added the signature pink and green sparkles associated with the franchise.

Xfinity’s announcement emphasizes their commitment to delivering seamless experiences to customers. The full short film, along with additional ‘Wicked: For Good’ content, can be accessed on Xfinity entertainment devices by saying “Wicked: For Good” into their voice remote. A 60-second version will also be shown in theaters nationwide.
