Kelsey Grammer Welcomes Eighth Child at 70 with Wife Kayte Walsh
Los Angeles, CA — Kelsey Grammer, the acclaimed actor known for roles in “Frasier” and “Cheers,” has welcomed his eighth child, a baby boy named Christopher, with his wife Kayte Walsh. The couple announced the happy news just days after Christopher’s birth on October 27, 2025.
In an interview published on November 5, 2025, Grammer expressed his joy, saying, “The family’s ecstatic. We’re all really having a great time. It’s really lovely.” At 70, Grammer reflects on the unique experience of having a fourth child with Walsh, 46, with whom he has been married since 2011.
Grammer shares three other children with Walsh: Faith, 12; Gabriel, 10; and James, 8. Additionally, he is the father to four older children from previous relationships: Spencer, 41; Greer, 33; Mason, 23; and Jude, 20. He previously spoke about the lessons he has learned in parenting, acknowledging a desire to strengthen his relationship with his older children.
“I have neglected a couple of the kids in my life, especially the first two,” Grammer stated in a May interview. He aims to be more involved and present in their lives, saying, “I’m still their dad, so you can always have [a] chance to show up.” Grammer also noted that he has adapted his parenting style for his younger children, focusing on clear expectations and responsibility.
The actor shared that the arrival of Christopher has reinforced his family bonds. “We are closer than we’ve ever been as a family, and I’m proud of that,” he said. As the holiday season approaches, he looks forward to creating more memories with his expanding family, continuing the tradition of a festive Christmas dinner and a beautifully decorated tree.
Kelsey Grammer’s journey as a father reflects the evolving dynamics of family and inclusion at any age.
