Timothée Chalamet Awards Season 2025

LOS ANGELES, CA — Timothée Chalamet opened up about his feelings surrounding award season disappointments in a recent interview with Vogue. The 29-year-old actor, despite winning a SAG Award for best actor in February for his role in “A Complete Unknown,” has faced setbacks, including two Oscar losses and multiple nominations without wins.

Chalamet articulated his frustrations candidly, saying, “If there’s five people at an awards show, and four people go home losing, you don’t think those four people are at the restaurant like, ‘Damn, we didn’t win?'” He acknowledges that while some actors might brush off losses, many, including himself, hold onto that disappointment. “I know for a fact a lot of them are going, ‘Fuck!'” he added.

Reflecting on the experience of going home without a trophy, Chalamet recalled it being “uniquely hilarious” to tear up a pre-written acceptance speech. “You think to yourself, ‘You narcissistic arrogant prick. On what planet did you think you were gonna use this?'” he said.

Amidst the ups and downs, he emphasized perseverance, stating, “People can call me a try-hard, and they can say whatever the fuck. But I’m the one actually doing it here.” Chalamet has recently begun a press tour for his upcoming film “Marty Supreme,” set to release on Christmas Day.

In addition to promoting his new film, Chalamet remains focused on future projects. He is developing a motocross movie titled “High Side” with director James Mangold and is filming “Dune: Part Three” with Denis Villeneuve. Although he got his start in television on Showtime’s “Homeland,” Chalamet expressed no desire to return to TV, stating simply, “No.” His commitment to film and awards aspirations continues to shape his career.
