Tornado Warnings Issued for Hinds, Rankin, and Madison Counties
Jackson, Mississippi – A tornado warning is in effect until 3 a.m. for Hinds, Rankin, and Madison counties. The warning comes after radar indicated possible tornadoes in the area.
According to meteorologists, a tornado was spotted on radar around 2 a.m. near Edwards and again at approximately 2:30 a.m. near Raymond. Residents are advised to take cover as the threat remains active.
A tornado watch has also been issued for the metro area, effective until 6 a.m. This means conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in the region.
Reports indicate multiple power outages across the metro area, with the highest number reported in Hinds County. Emergency services are assessing the damage while urging residents to stay indoors.
