Nashville, TNLainey Wilson has achieved her ninth top 10 hit on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart, with her song “Somewhere Over Laredo” climbing from 11 to 9 for the week dated Nov. 29. The track saw an impressive increase, pulling in 4.1 million official streams in the United States, a 3% rise, and reaching an audience of 24.6 million on radio, which is an 8% increase. Additionally, sales for the song jumped by 36%, totaling 1,000 copies during the tracking week of Nov. 14-20, according to data from Luminate.

Wilson, who co-wrote the track produced by Jay Joyce, creatively intertwines elements from the 1939 classic “Over the Rainbow.” The Baskin, Louisiana, native is establishing herself as one of the most prominent female artists in country music today. In the past decade, Wilson’s nine top 10 hits tie her with Maren Morris for third among solo female artists on the chart, trailing only behind Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood, who have achieved 17 and 10 top 10 hits respectively.

In the broader context of the country music landscape, Wilson ranks in the top quarter overall, tying with both Morris and Cole Swindell at No. 10. Looking at the last five years, her achievements become more noteworthy; she is only outpaced by Swift among solo female artists, and sits fourth overall behind Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, and Zach Bryan.

Meanwhile, fellow artist Kelsea Ballerini is also making waves on the Hot Country Songs chart. Ballerini’s new track “Emerald City” enters at No. 36 with 2.9 million streams, just behind her song “I Sit in Parks,” which has risen 14% from 37 to 32, totaling 3.3 million streams. Both tracks are part of Ballerini’s new EP titled Mount Pleasant, which debuted at No. 9 on the Top Country Albums chart with 13,000 equivalent album units. “Emerald City” marks Ballerini’s 24th charted title, with seven of those making it to the top 10 since her breakthrough hit “Love Me Like You Mean It” in 2015.
