Actor Danny Masterson Transferred To New Prison Facility In California

Actor Danny Masterson, known for his role in ‘That ’70s Show,’ has been relocated to a new prison facility in California, marking another move in his legal journey.

Masterson, 47, was recently transferred from Corcoran State Prison to the Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo, after a brief stint at a high-security institution.

The Men’s Colony is a medium and minimum-security prison and offers inmates various educational and self-improvement programs, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Following a state judge’s decision in January, Masterson was denied bail while appealing his rape conviction, deeming him a flight risk.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Charlaine F. Olmedo highlighted concerns over Masterson’s incentive to flee given his lack of familial ties following a recent split from his estranged wife.

Masterson was convicted last year of raping two women and sentenced to 30 years to life in prison, with eligibility for parole in July 2042.

In December, Masterson was admitted to North Kern State Prison before being relocated to Corcoran State Prison in January.

Olmedo emphasized during sentencing that Masterson must come to terms with the consequences of his actions from 20 years ago and is not the victim in the case.
